A list of artistes that will perform at the fifth edition of MTV Africa Music Awards, scheduled to hold in South Africa on July 18, 2015, has been released. Davido will lead others to thrill guests from different parts of Africa and beyond at the event.
The list also includes Yemi Alade, Diamond Platnumz, Bucie and Cassper Nyovest. The five African artistes are expected to perform alongside American rhythm and blues star, Ne-Yo, at the event.
While this will be a first time appearance at the event for the likes of Bucie, Yemi Alade and Cassper Nyovest, Diamond Platnumz and Davido are returning to the spectacular MAMA stage after a memorable performance of their collaboration titled, My Number One: Remix at the 2014 event.
All the five performers are also hot contenders for various laurels at MAMA 2015. Three-time winner, Davido, will slug it out with Diamond Platnuzm in this year’s Best Male category, while Bucie and go head to head in the Best Female category.
Also, for the third time Cassper Nyovest has been nominated for the Song of the Year, Best New Act Transformed by Absolut, and Best Hip Hop awards.
There are plans to broadcast the 2015 event, which is aimed at celebrating the evolution of contemporary African music by recognising contemporary artistes and pace-setters across a wide range of music and lifestyle categories, live across the continent on three television channels simultaneously.
