Husband Murders Wife Then 'Claims She Ran Off To Join ISIS'

A husband has been accused of murdering his wife - then trying to cover up her death by claiming she had run away to join ISIS.

Police say Shapi Shakhshaev, 37, allegedly stabbed Fatima, 30, to death and then dismembered her body in the bathroom while their three children slept in their beds.
He then told the cops in June that she had left Moscow with a female friend to go to Chechnya, which has a mainly Muslim population, and from there had travelled to Syria.

But after finding out from her worried family the couple were in the process of getting divorced and she was going to take the children, police searched the flat.
They uncovered the murder weapon and also traces of blood.

A police spokesman said: "We were suspicious because by all accounts she was devoted to her children and it's unlikely she would have left them with her husband even if she was leaving."
Fatima's family said she was unhappy that her husband spent too much time playing computer games and was convinced he had a lover.
He in turn had claimed she was a drug addict and they were always rowing.
Fatima's mother Raisa said: "He kept saying she was a drug addict, but it just wasn't true. Like his claim about ISIS, he was always talking rubbish. She wanted to get back to our family in Mahachkala in southern Russia, but she did not make it. He did not allow her to go.
"Poor kids. She left three kids. Two girls and a boy."
Shakhshaev is currently in custody awaiting trial.

Lagos Government Says Fashola Spent N139m on Two Boreholes

According to a report published by the Lagos state government, the immediate past Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, spent N139m on the drilling of two boreholes at the Lagos House, Ikeja.

The project was completed by Deux Projects Limited. The report, which was part of the awarded contracts by the Lagos State Tenders Board in 2013, was seen on the website of the Lagos State Public Procurement Agency. In the same year, N640m was spent by the Fashola administration for the reconstruction of a car park and other associated works at the Lagos House, Marina.

The report stated that the N640m contract was given to Julius Berger Plc as part of phase two of the reconstruction of Lagos House where Fashola lived during his eight years in government. In the same year, N300m was spent on the relocation of cables belonging to the Power Holding Company of Nigeria at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.

The contract was awarded to Deux Projects Limited. According to the report, the former governor also spent N175m to replace the railings of a pedestrian bridge on Carter Bridge from Ido to Idumota with concrete railings. The contract was awarded to A Abicon Engineering Limited. N220m was spent on the facility management of the Lagos State University College of Medicine.

The contract was awarded to Deux Projects Limited. The former governor, according to the report, spent N619m on surface repair on Ajara-Erekiti-Iragon-Ikoga Road in Badagry Local Government. According to the report, Fashola spent N1.2bn on the construction of an unidentified multi-storey building in Onikan, Lagos.

The former governor was also said to have spent N1.6bn on the construction of a 48-bedroom hotel at Lagos State VIP Chalets, Badagry. About N510m was spent on the remodelling and equipping of the official residence of the state’s Chief Judge at 4 Thompson Avenue, Ikoyi, Lagos, according to the report. About N165m was spent on the construction of an 18-classroom block at Ajara Senior Grammar School, Ajara Badagry. The same amount was also spent on an 18-block classroom at Community Senior/Junior Secondary School, Bayeku, Ikorodu.

Fashola had recently come under fire for spending N78.3m of taxpayers’ money on his website, tundefashola.com. Although the figures were published on the official website of the state government, the former governor said all the monies were duly approved by the Lagos State House of Assembly and the Lagos State Public Procurement Agency.

Fashola, in a six-page letter, stated that the website of the state government was authentic. He, however, warned against attempt by some persons to tarnish his good image and misrepresent his budgetary spending to the members of the public. All attempts to speak with Fashola’s spokesperson, Hakeem Bello, proved abortive as he did not pick calls neither did he respond to a text message sent to his telephone, Punch reports.

24th August, 2015, will ever remain a big day in the life of Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, as she added another year to her age all thanks to God for the life preservation.

The key note about her celebration is that she has a large fan base and almost got everyone having her picture on their various social media pages all sending out a birthday shout out.
One of the messages that stood out was from popular on-air-personality, Toolz Oniru, after she appreciated the actress for helping put smiles on the face of her mother who had always wanted to meet her.
Toolz stated that she was not her mum’s favourite child and in a bid to win her heart over, she decided to get Funke come to the house and when she eventually agreed to come, things changed as her mother was so happy to finally meet her.

According to her, “So let me tell you a little story. My mum is a HUGE fan of Funke's and I kept thinking if I was able to surprise my mum with a visit from Funke, I would definitely be her favourite child (middle child issues). One day I bumped into Funke at church and I told her my mum's at home, and would she mind stopping by to say hello? Without hesitating she said yes.

To cut a long story short, she made my mum so happy that day, and I will never forget that. God bless you on your special day!”

US Goverment Admits Marijuana Kills Cancer Cells

After decades of speculation, the US government has thrown its weight behind the earth-shattering claims that cannabis kills cancer cells.

According to the US government's Cancer.org website claimed: Health researchers for the US government claim that cannabinoids - the active ingredients in cannabis - can inhibit the illness by causing cell death and blocking key blood vessels needed by tumours to grow.
"Studies in mice and rats have shown that cannabinoids may inhibit tumor growth by causing cell death, blocking cell growth, and blocking the development of blood vessels needed by tumors to grow. Laboratory and animal studies have shown that cannabinoids may be able to kill cancer cells while protecting normal cells.

Key chemical ingredients in marijuana were found effective in fighting against colon cancer, liver cancer, breast cancer and several other forms of the disease.
It was also suggested that cannabidiol can boost the effectiveness of chemotherapy - without any of the nasty side effects.

Late Ooni’s Wives Banned From Re-Marrying

The wives left behind by the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, have been banned by tradition from re-marrying, The Nation reports.
Quoting a palace chief, who preferred not to be named, the report said the order was prescribed by Ife tradition, since the Ooni is not considered dead but to have transited to a higher realm.

The chief, maintaining that the Ooni still lives, said it is forbidden for wives left behind by Oba Sijuwade to re-marry.

He said: “The rules is general and applies to all Ooni that has passed on and not peculiar to the wives of Oba Sijuwade, the immediate past Ooni. There may not be a clearly defined repercussion against the tradition but it is advisable that the order is obeyed at all times and for all generations.
The best that can happen to the oloris left behind by any late Ooni is for them to remain single or be inherited by the reigning Ooni.”
The palace chief added that it does not matter whether the wives are young or old, “what matters is that the tradition must be sustained in the overall interest of the society.”
The late Oba Okunade Sijuwade left Oloris Morisola, Ladun, Odunayo, Adedolapo and Linda behind, with their ages ranging between 40’s and 60’s.

The first wife, Olori Yetunde, the mother of the first son, Prince Adetokubo, died some years ago, long before Oba Sijuwade’s death.

Baby Girl Born With Tiny Arms Fit Through A Wedding Ring Defies The Odds To Survive

A touching first photograph capturing the moment a father cradles his 25-day-old daughter for the first time, reveals she was so tiny her forearm slipped easily through his wedding ring.

Mollie Perrin was born 13 weeks premature, on April 27.
She was diagnosed with a placental disorder before birth and doctors told her devastated parents Stephanie, 34, and James, 38, that she may not live past three weeks old.

She was born weighing just 1lbs 1oz, little more than a bag of sugar, and was rushed to a neonatal intensive care.
But Mollie defied doctors' expectations to pull through - and at three weeks old, her parents were able to hold her for the first time.

And now, at 17 weeks old, her parents, from Hull, East Yorkshire, are finally preparing to take her home for the very first time.

'I can't believe the moment has finally come for us to take Mollie home,' Mr Perrin said.
'After weeks of watching parents come and go with their own babies, it's finally going to be time to take our little one home.

'The joy and relief we feel is just amazing, we can't wait to be able to finally be a family, it's so incredibly special to be able to say we can take Mollie home.
'At our first scan, the doctors told us we can only expect to have her for three weeks.
'When they told us, we both just broke down. There were so many questions we had to ask. It has been horrific, but the people have really looked after us we are like a family now.'
They were told Mollie had intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), meaning she was not growing at a normal rate inside the womb, due to a placental disorder.
'Mollie just wasn't getting fed properly. Every week she fell behind in size,' Mr Perrin said.
'The placenta didn't work properly and in tandem with that, there was umbilical cord restriction, restricting the growth of the baby, because she wasn't getting the nutrients she needed.
Mollie was delivered by an emergency Caesarean section on April 27, after her mother had been in hospital for two weeks under observation.

She had been having regular ultrasound scans to make sure Mollie was still alive.
Mr Perrin said it was a 'relief' to have his wife being checked by nurses in hospital, as at home they were being consumed with worry.
'It was incredibly hard at home, having to get up, go about our lives not even knowing if our baby was still alive,' he recalled.
'At least when Stephanie was admitted, we could just ask for an ultrasound.'
Mollie was born prematurely at just 27 weeks old, weighing little more than a pound.

Now weighing 5lb 10oz, Mr and Mrs Perrin are hoping to take their daughter home in the next few weeks.
'It will be such a relief to take her home,' Mr Perrin said. 'That's been the hardest bit; going home and not taking our baby daughter with us.
'Seeing all these other parents come in, having their baby and being able to take them home has been heart-breaking.
'But knowing we will soon be able to do that is a massive relief. It just shows that it is possible to overcome all the odds, and miracles do happen.'

EFCC Chairman Accused of Diverting N1trillion Loot Recovered from Corrupt Politicians

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Lamorde, has been accused of diverting over N1tn recovered from corrupt politicians who forfeited their loots.

A man named George Uboh recently petitioned the Senate, accusing the chairman of the anti-graft agency of diverting money recovered from corrupt politicians including former Governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha; and ex-Inspector-General of Police, Tafa Balogun.

The Senate having received the petition which was dated July 31st, ordered its Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions to investigate the allegations. Both the petitioner and Mr Lamorde have been invited to appear by the Senate committee at Meeting Room 120 of the New Senate Building, National Assembly Complex, on Wednesday August 26th for some questioning.

According to the petition which was addressed to Senate President Bukola Saraki, Mr Lamorde is accused of carrying out many diversions while he served as the Director of Operations of the EFCC between 2003 and 2007 and also as an acting Chairman of the commission between June 2007 and May 2008.

The petitioner alleged that in March 2013, the EFCC boss diverted the sum of N779m out of the total N3bn forfeited by former police chief, Tafa Balogun to the Federal Government. He also alleged that the EFCC boss conspired with some officials of the anti-graft agency to under-remit the former IG’s forfeited funds of about N5.85bn into the Consolidated Revenue Account by holding back about N2.65bn.

The petitioner assured the Senate that he was ready to provide unparalleled evidence to back his allegations against Lamorde. Both men are expected to appear before the Senate by 10am on Wednesday August 26th.

Don't Drag Buhari into ISIS Chief’s Visa Incident - Presidency

The Presidency yesterday cautioned against dragging the name of President Muhammadu Buhari into the controversy over how a leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), Ahmed   Al-Assir, got a Nigerian visa.

A presidential spokesman, Mallam Garba Shehu, said yesterday that it was mischievous to drag the person of President Muhammadu Buhari into how the ISIS chief secured the visa.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called for a full report on the case and it is investigating it.But it is mischievous for anyone to attempt to drag the person of President Muhammadu Buhari into the incident.

The Buhari administration had nothing to do with the suspect or the supposed visit of the ISIS chief.
“Without prejudice to the ongoing investigation, it should be noted that Nigerian missions are to serve, they can adjudge an applicant for visa on the basis of documents presented to the Embassy. What is hidden in their heart, you will not know.
“And for this applicant, we have read report of how he concealed his identity and wore a new look to get the visa.
“Since the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is looking into the matter, let us await the outcome of the investigation.”
According to the Nation,Al-Assir, said to be the Chief Imam of ISIS was arrested on August 15 at Beirut’s Rafik Hariri International Airport in Lebanon on his way to Nigeria through Egypt.

In spite of being on the watch-list of Lebanon’s security services since 2013, Al-Assir was detected while holding a fake Palestinian passport with the Nigerian visa.

The Lebanese government accused him of involvement in the death of 17 Lebanese soldiers.
He was also sentenced to death in absentia by a Lebanese court.
But how he beat the visa process at the Nigerian Embassy in Lebanon is creating ripples in security circles.

The Federal Government is said to be disturbed that Al-Assir succeeded in deceiving the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) and Embassy officials.
Although the suspect reportedly changed his identity and looks and presented superficial documents for visa, the government decided to probe the incident to ascertain that there was no internal collaboration at its mission.

Teenager has her eyes gouged out

These are the kinds of things that are almost too awful to believe.

According to Daily Mail reports:
A teenager was brutally gang-raped then had her eyes gouged out by her sister in a brutal exorcism ritual that the rapists claim was ordered by a local pastor.
The victim, aged just 16, is now fighting for her life in hospital after the horrific ordeal, which her family said they orchestrated because they believed she was possessed by the devil.

After the terrible ordeal, the teenager was pinned down and her elder sister cut both of her eyes out.
The victim’s sister claimed that the religious centre even gave her the sharp knife used in the attack and said that she must personally carry out the brutal act in order to cure her.

The horrific attack happened in the town of General Pinedo, in the north Argentine province of Chaco and police have arrested the older sister.
She told police that her sibling was having visions and it was believed that because demons are terrified of pain, the act would drive out the demon.

Doctors reported that the victim had also suffered several injuries in the genital area and It is understood that police are about to arrest a group of men who took part in the twisted ritual.
The victim was in the intensive care unit of the Perrando de Resistencia hospital where she was transferred to be treated for her terrible injuries.

Police Commissioner Pablo Almiron said that the girl’s parents also believed she was possessed by the devil.
They told police she kept seeing animals like goats that were not there, and they had asked the evangelic centre and its pastor to help them ‘cure her’.
He said: ‘It is the first time in 22 years of my career in the police to have an event of this nature.
‘The prosecutor has also said that it is the first time in his life. It is very difficult to explain that something like this could happen to a teenager.’

ALIKO DANGOTE: NIGERIA’S NO. 1 BACHELOR + 5 reasons he may never marry

Courtesy of our women, we now know who Nigeria’s hottest and No. 1 bachelor is – his name is Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the multi billionaire business mogul behind the Dangote Group.

A proud owner of nearly all the good things of life – exotic automobiles, expensive houses, extraordinary private jets, etc – the only thing that the man can’t boast of, for now, is a wife; a Mrs. Dangote that he can return home to and at the close of work everyday.
His fellow billionaires and friends are all married – Femi Otedola of Zenon is married to Nana; Jim Ovia of Zenith Bank is married to Ray and Tony Elumelu of UBA – Awele.
Born on April 10, 1957, the 58year old, in spite of having about four daughters (Fatima, Zainab, Halima and Salma) could not get any of their mothers to live under one roof with him.

YES INTERNATIONAL! Magazine investigations uncovered some of the likely reasons for this. The first one is that he doesn’t know who to really trust among all the women that are interested in him.

The second one is that he is too engrossed in his business that he hardly has time for women. In fact, there’s this unconfirmed joke that he once travelled with a lady outside our shores and forgot her in the hotel, while trying to fix a mega deal.

The third reason is that he’s become so used to living as a bachelor that he rarely remembers that he hasn’t got a wife. The fourth reason is the difficulty in getting a woman that will really understand him and cope with his life style. And the fifth one – getting married doesn’t rank high on his scale of preference.

Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man, is said to be worth over $24 billion. The son of late Mohammed and Mariya Dangote, his business interest cuts across cement, sugar, flour, real estate and oil and gas. A big fan of Arsenal Football Club, he started out as a trader before delving into manufacturing – where he did not only hit it big, but also grew bigger.

The Chairman/CEO of Dangote Group, he  attended Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt where he read Business. In love with dominating in any field he’s playing, he’s practically conquered Nigeria’s business terrain and is right now investing in countries like Ethiopia, South Africa and so on.

An official of the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign affairs told Vanguard in Abuja, Tuesday evening, that President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to investigate the circumstances surrounding the issuance of Visa to the wanted terrorist who has been on the wanted list of several governments.

It would be recalled that a radical Muslim cleric, Ahmad al-Assir was arrested by Lebanese authorities as he attempted to leave Lebanon to Nigeria via Cairo.

He was said to have arrested while attempting to travel with a fake Palestinian passport with a valid Nigerian Visa at the Beirut’s Rafik Hariri International Airport early Saturday, August 15, 2015 in Lebanon.

According to the official of the ministry of foreign affairs who spoke with Vanguard on the condition of anonymity, the ministry of foreign affairs has been directed to explain how the wanted terrorist was able to get Nigerian Visa.
“The reported arrest of the wanted terrorist is a huge embarrassment to Nigeria and the President has directed that the matter should be investigated. The embassy in Lebanon has been directed to furnish the ministry with details of how the man got the visa. The National Intelligence Agency Officer has been directed to provide details of what happened” the officer said.

“Life can hit you with financial loss, disappointments, death of a loved one, a broken relationship, loss of a job, a divorce, being falsely accused or being a victim of crime. These can shatter you to pieces but you can do something about it.

“Life is a gift from God and you deserve to be happy irrespective of your age, race, gender, background or financial situation.

I urge you to appreciate the gift you are, you are precious and valuable.
“Never lose sight of who you are; begin to create new visions and dreams for your life. Let nothing stop you from growing every day.

My journey was not in vain. I can now help others realise that their situation does not define them.”

The property belongs to the Nigerian people. We are not trying to humiliate anyone by asking them to return their cars or houses.“But change has come. That is why we have to do things differently now. Imagine how much Nigeria will save by retrieving and re-using these government properties instead of purchasing new ones for new government officials,” said Garba.

Police Arrest 78 Year Old Man for Raping 11 Year Old Girl

Police in Lagos have arrested a 78-year-old man, Alhaji Dauda Adebowale, for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl, Remilekun (not her real name).
The incident was said to have happened in Pen Cinema, in the Agege area of the state.

It was learnt that some time in June 2015, Remilekun was passing by a shop where the old man lived alone when he called to send her on an errand.
When she returned, he was said to have dragged her into the shop and raped her, threatening to kill her if she told the act to anyone.

He was said to be living alone in the shop. It was gathered that Adebowale raped her on several occasions after the first time because he had threatened her with death if she told any one.

However, trouble started for the suspect on Sunday, August 2, when Remilekun, who was reportedly sleeping beside her mother in the afternoon of the fateful day, suddenly woke up, shouting ‘penis, penis’ to the bewilerment of the mother.

The woman, who did not want her name in print, said haggard-looking Remilekun opened up to her after she pestered her.

She said:
“On that Sunday, I was ill and was sleeping. She also slept beside me. She suddenly cried out, shouting, ‘penis, penis, penis’. I was shocked. When I asked her what happened, she said it was a man on our street that had been having sex with her.
“I followed her to the man’s house. Some boys confronted him and he confessed to them. I then reported him at the Area G Police Command in Ogba and he was arrested. I took my daughter to a hospital for tests because she has become lean. The medical result showed that her vagina had been tampered with and I have given it to the police.”
The victim, a primary 2 pupil, who spoke in Yoruba, said she had lost count of the number of times the old man had raped her but that she had gotten fed up and called his bluff.
She said:
“I was passing by a shop on our street one Saturday afternoon when he called me. He was sitting outside the shop and told me to help him bring a document inside the shop. I was about to leave after I gave him the document when he dragged me inside and locked the door.
“He covered my mouth and raped me. He threatened to kill me if I told anybody. The following day, he called me again and repeated the same thing. I can’t remember how many times he had sex with me. Whenever I told him I would tell my mother, he would say I was playing with my life.
“When I could no longer bear it, I opened up to a woman in our area and she promised that she would make sure the man was evicted from the shop.
“It was few days after that my mother said she heard me shout ‘penis’ while I was asleep.”
Remilekun’s sister, Tokunbo (not her real name) said she had narrowly escaped being trapped by the suspect not knowing that her younger sister had fallen victim.
She said:
“He called me two weeks ago and told me that he liked me. He promised to take care of me if I cooperated.
“I said I did not understand and managed to run away. I told my mother when I got home and she warned me to stay off his reach.”

The suspect was arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on three counts bordering on rape.
The charges read in part, “That you, Alhaji Dauda Adebowale, 78, sometime in 2015, at a shop in Pen Cinema, Agege, Lagos, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did have sexual intercourse with one 11-year-old girl.
“That you, within the same period and place in the aforementioned magisterial district, did sexually assault one 11-year-old girl.”

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges which, according to the police, contravene sections 137, 166 and 257 of the Criminal Law II, Vol. 44 of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011.
The presiding magistrate, Mr. T. Elias, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties each in like sum.

The matter was adjourned till September 2, 2015, Elias ordered that the man be kept in prison custody pending the time he would be able to perfect his bail.

Catholic Priest Assassinated in Imo State, Nigeria

During the weekend, a Claretian priest of the Catholic Church was murdered in Owerri, Imo state.

The priest, whose full identity could not be ascertained at press time, was an academic staff of Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo, in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Andrew Enwerem, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, confirmed the incident, he said the priest was murdered by assassins on a bush path.

Enwerem said:
“The police are suspecting that it was a clear case of assassination. The priest was gruesomely murdered along a very lonely bush path that would have led him into Port Harcourt Road.”
While noting that whatever happened to the priest might be connected with the bickering and happenings in Imo Polytechnic, Enwerem, however, wondered why the Catholic priest chose to use such a lonely bush path.

He said:
“The police are suspecting that whatever happened to the priest cannot be far from the ceaseless bickering emanating from the polytechnic.
“Again, I wonder why the priest chose to use the lonely bush path on his Toyota SUV.”
He confirmed that although the police have recovered the vehicle, no arrests had been made in connection with the crime.
The PPRO said that police patrol teams were despatched to the area as soon as the information was passed on to them.

He said:
“The youths of the community joined the police in combing the surrounding bushes. The hoodlums simply perfected and carried out their damnable act before vanishing into the thin air.”
Enwerem confirmed that the command had not only expanded its dragnet to all corners of the state, but were following all available leads.
Enwerem said: “There is the likelihood that the assassins carefully monitored the priest’s movement and laid ambush for him on his track. Honestly, it was a gruesome murder.”

Five Star Records and Their Many Controversies

What could possibly be the challenges the artistes at Five Star record label going through? Virtually all the singers in that label have created one controversy or the other.

Let’s start with Kcee, while on popular programme with Toolz, ‘The Juice,’ he denied ever getting married to his estranged wife Ijeoma Cynthia Okonkwo (nee Oduah) and claims the woman is his elder sister. This got many talking and wondering what could possibly be wrong with the singer but the matter has been long forgotten.

Harry Song came up with his own tale in an interview which he denied that he was a product of incest. When the story trended and calls and comments were coming in, the singer denied the allegations stating that he never said such even threatening to sue the writer.

Well, thinking that all was fine with the singers as they seems to have been calm with their controversies, Kcee’s manager, Sososo Berekon, needed a hype for himself as he decided to share a picture of himself with some mobile men while having bottles of beer.
Now, the trendiest of all controversies is the records new artiste, Skiibii. The singer has been on some media tour trying to promote his new song and in other to have a quick wider coverage, the singer and his label team decided to stage a prank which got everyone in a sober mood when it was alleged that the singer is dead.
Even the label’s manager, Sososo Berekon shared a candle to signify that the singer had died. Within the space of about five hours, it became a trending issue only for many to be shocked at the latest news by Kcee that the singer was ok and only slumped but was recovering in an undisclosed hospital.
From the look of things, the stars in this record label just need to grow and truly define a strategic means of promoting themselves rather than set hearts pondering. Who dare jokes with death? With the way they have been pushing themselves with various controversies, their credibility will soon be in doubt.

Oscar Pistorius to Be Released from Prison Next Week

Oscar Pistorius will only be able to leave his house to go to church when he is freed from jail next week. Oscar who is supposed to be a devout Christian, whose faith is said to have deepened over recent months, must be accompanied on trips to attend mass.

While under “house arrest” at his uncle’s home he will be allowed few visitors, who will have to be approved by the court, and someone will have to shop for him under strict parole conditions the Sunday Mirror can reveal today.

There was an international outcry when it was revealed the Paralympic gold winner will serve just 10 months of a five-year term for killing his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, 29.

During his trial Pistorius, 28, was seen clasping rosary beads and intensively reading the book Breakthrough Prayer: The Power of Connecting with the Heart of God, by the Brooklyn Tabernacle Church’s pastor Jim Cymbal.

He is since said to have been studying the Bible.
His release terms mean he will remain a prisoner in his home ahead of an appeal to have his manslaughter conviction overturned.

A mystery donor is said to have offered to help fund the bid, which could lead to a retrial.
A source on the Pistorius legal team said he has been told his release date will either be August 21, 22 or 23.

The source added:
“The appeal court can’t send him back to prison, they can only order a retrial. Is it impossible? No. Is it likely, also no.”
His team say the appeal is based only on a legal issue and nothing to do with the State’s initial version that he wanted to kill Reeva and that he has an uncontrollable temper.

Emerging celebrity couple, Made Men Music Group boss, Ubi Franklin and actress, Lillian Esoro have been in the news lately after the two love birds were spotted together at AY's younger brother's traditional wedding in Owerri, Imo State.

Rumours even have it that they had quietly done their first marriage introduction, but kept it very private.
When the entertainment boss was contacted on the marriage speculation, he flared up and almost rained abuses on The Punch reporter.
Ubi chose to reply with all the foul and swear words he could think of.
“No one should f**king ask me about my private life. You can ask me about my artiste or my company but don’t ever f**king ask me about my private life, it is not your business!, he replied rudely.

Few months ago, when he newly proposed to Lilian, Ubi goes about telling everyone that cared to listen of how much he loves Lillian, “I asked God that I needed a woman to marry and settle down with. After I prayed about it for about a week, I met Lillian at a friend’s party. The day I met her, I saw the qualities I wanted in a woman I want to be with for the rest of my life.

The marriage would definitely be this year in Nigeria. I am not a fan of marrying abroad. I have nothing against people that do it but the truth is many people that ought to come and pray for you would not make it if you travel out of the country,” He had said.
But after controversies trailed the love triangle between him, Lilian Esoro and Emma Nyra, he opted to keep his love life very private.

Burial Of Ooni Allegedly Stalled As Man To Be Buried Alive With King Absconds

OONI of Ife Oba Okunade Sijuwade’s burial has allegedly been put on hold after a man elected to be buried alive with the monarch absconded unwilling to be the one to keep the king company in the afterlife.

Unconfirmed reports from Ile-Ife indicate that the designated person to be buried alive alongside the monarch, known traditionally as the Abobaku, took to his heels for dear life.

See the photo of the running man below:

In Ile-Ife culture, the Abobaku is a person selected by the traditional chiefs to live and die with the king and is treated well and showered with a lot of care and gifts while alive. Apparently, the incumbent Abobaku ran away following the confirmation of the death of the Ooni earlier this month. Despite denials of the death by the Traditional Royal Council of Ife, He refused to wait for confirmation and has been at large ever since.

According to Yoruba tradition, a king does not die alone and his burial rites include being buried with other people. An Abobaku lives his life for the king and is buried alongside the monarch. In the authentic tradition, just as there is a lineage that becomes king, there is also always a family dedicated to the ancient belief of dying with the king. It is not yet clear if the Traditional Royal Council will go ahead with the funeral following the disappearance of the Abobaku.

Earlier this month, the traditional authorities in Ile-Ife said that there will be no human sacrifice involved in the burial of Oba Sijuwade. Apparently, Oba Sijuwade abolished human sacrifices when he was still on the throne and was said to have appealed to the gods to help put a stop to human sacrifice, describing the act as barbaric, callous and inhuman.

Prominent Ifa priest, Chief Ifayemi Elebuibon, confirmed the abolition of the practice, adding that what will happen instead is that the cows will be dressed up to make them look like humans. Oba Sijuwade, 85, was the 50th monarch of Ile-Ife believed to be cradle of Yoruba civilisation and the ancestral home of all Oduduwa’s offspring.
