Two years into its operations, Executive Chairman and CEO of EbonyLife TV, Mo Abudu, has said that viewers of the television channel should look forward to a brighter future.
She said it would explore different options to improve its content.
According to her, syndication deals with global paid TV providers is one of the options the organisation will consider to boost its performance and create more value for its customers.
“It has been two years of the absolute grace of God! We have had our ups and downs but God proved faithful through it all. We thank all our sponsors and partners; our unrelenting directors and dependable talents, all our world-class presenters and producers,” she said.
EbonyLife TV was launched on July1, 2013, to a pan-African audience, by a licence agreement with Multichoice (DStv Africa), with a vision to be the preferred global network for premium African entertainment through the creation and broadcast of original, homegrown and premium content.
In November 2014, EbonyLife TV was unveiled in Southern Africa. This, according to Abudu, justifies why it has been ranked as one of the most watched channels on the DStv platform.
In the UK, EbonyLife TV got on two different platforms: the TalkTalk and Lebara Play platforms, with an agreement to distribute to Canada via Ethnic Channels Group Limited.
Abudu said there were ongoing distribution discussions with Virgin Media in the UK as well as other platforms in the UAE, the Caribbean and the US.
